Hair transplant to area of female hair loss
Hair transplant to area of female hair loss

Before hair transplant surgery and one year later

This very young woman presented with severe female pattern hair loss. The severity of her loss prompted some blood tests, which revealed elevated androgens. She was referred to an endocrinologist for possible PCOS. After medical treatment and stabilization she returned for surgery. Fortunately, women with PCOS retain excellent donor hair density. The results of one surgery to the frontal area is shown in the adjacent photo.
