Young woman before surgery and 18 months later
This woman came for consultation with Dr. Unger at the age of 29 years, after searching for 8 years for a solution to her hair loss. The early onset alopecia was largely secondary to polycystic ovarian syndrome and a referral to an endocrinologist by Robin Unger helped her receive medical therapy to slow her hairloss. She had one surgery to the frontal area and anterior part-line of 1078 FU, 229 DFU. The results are shown in these photos. Two years later she had a second surgery to somewhat thicken areas in the front and treat the midscalp and posterior part-line with 1445 FU and 257 DFU. Fortunately women with PCOS generally retain very dense donor rim hair.
