This man had tried propecia for three years expecting new hair growth in the frontal area. Dr. Unger explained that propecia is most effective in the vertex and somewhat helpful in the midscalp, but rarely produces any change in the frontal scalp. She still advised he remain on the medication as he did have some thinning in those areas. One surgery was performed to the frontal area, consisting of 2379 FU, however 1293 of those FU contained 3-5 hairs! A very happy patient is shown after one year.
